Part 1: Getting Started introduces the fundamentals of using a computer. This session is designed for beginners who want to feel comfortable turning on a device, using a mouse or trackpad, and opening basic programs.
Participants will learn through guided practice and simple activities, with plenty of time for questions.

- Powering on and safely shutting down devices
- Understanding that all electronics need power (power buttons, sleep, hibernate)
- Basic computer parts (screen, keyboard, mouse, ports)
- Mouse and trackpad basics (click, double-click, drag, scroll)
- Opening and closing programs
- Using simple programs like Paint and Notepad
- Typing, saving, copying, pasting, undoing, and switching programs
