Help Lead Roadrunner STEM Initiative
We're building a leadership team that reflects our commitment to digital equity and STEM access in Doña Ana County. Our Executive Board will work closely with the Executive Director to launch and grow programs that serve students, families, and the broader community.
Organizational Structure
Our organization is built on a foundation of collaborative leadership with clearly defined roles to ensure accountability and effective implementation of our programs.
Founder & Executive Director
Tomas Valdez
As founder, Tomas brings vision and direction to the Roadrunner STEM Initiative, drawing on extensive experience in technology education and community development.
Board Member Responsibilities
- Support the development and oversight of STEM programming strategy
- Advocate for our mission in the community and build partnerships
- Assist with fundraising, grant opportunities, and sustainability planning
- Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or hybrid)
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and volunteers to guide organizational growth
Board Positions We're Recruiting
- Board Chair: Leads meetings, sets agendas, and facilitates board engagement.
- Vice Chair: Supports the chair and acts in their absence.
- Secretary: Maintains records and documents board decisions.
- Treasurer: Oversees the budget, finances, and reporting.
- Executive Director: (Tomas Valdez) Carries out the board's vision and manages day-to-day operations.
- General Members: Serve as ambassadors, lend expertise (e.g., education, technology, fundraising), and help shape direction.
How We Work Together
Roadrunner STEM Initiative is led by the Executive Director, who works closely with the board to ensure programs meet the needs of our community. This is a partnership—board members help set direction, solve challenges, and expand our impact. Together, we're building something meaningful.
Our Team
As we grow, we'll build a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers including:
- Contract educators providing specialized instruction
- Program volunteers supporting workshops and events
- Administrative support staff
- Community ambassadors promoting our mission
